How do I book a session? Follow the prompts from the homepage. Click on the link next to the desired session and you’ll be taken to a booking page where you can book the slot and pay your deposit. You’ll immediately receive a confirmation email once you’ve finished the booking process.
What can MINI sessions be used for? Sessions can be couples, families (max 7 people included), individuals, maternity, puppies, boudoir (studio spaces only), pretty much anything! If you have more than 7 people, then it is recommended that you book a FULL session.
Do you require a deposit? A $150 deposit is due at the time of booking to secure your date (by paypal or credit card) and the remaining balance is due on the day of the session by cash (paper money only. Venmo etc is not accepted). If you’d prefer to pay only by paypal or credit card, you can pay the full balance at the time of booking only. Paypal will not be accepted on the day of the shoot. Please note that there are no refunds on payments made. You can however reschedule your session or use as a credit for a future session. Please note that reschedules must take place more than 24 hours in advance of the scheduled session. Scroll to the bottom of this page to see the rescheduling policy. Reschedules requested less than 24 hours in advance will incur a $175 rescheduling fee.
How fast do I get the images back? My turnaround time is usually 2 weeks. You can purchase expedited editing for a turnaround time of 3 business days ($50 for mini sessions and $100 for full sessions)– just look for the check box above the calendar when booking.
What happens if it rains on the day of our session? All indoor studio sessions and Cal Tech sessions will all still take place. Clients for all other sessions have the following options:
Reschedule to another day (I will reach out to clients in advance to have them decide on this one)
Shoot at the same time but in a studio! (Clients scheduled back to back will need to vote on rain vs studio)
Why do your sessions start so early in the morning? The light is amazingly dreamy 2 hours after sunrise and 2 hours before sunset, so therefore I schedule all sessions close to these times:) I want everyone to have amazing light! I promise that a 7am call time is so worth it! All those dreamy images happen at sunset or sunrise. Some locations photograph well ALL day so I offer sessions at all times on those days.
Do we get to see more than 5 images from our session? Yes! Clients get a well rounded gallery which usually includes 20-50 images.
How do we get to download the entire gallery? You can purchase the entire gallery for $150 or additional images (over the 5 included) for $25/each.
What is your photography style? I try and shoot at least one posed (everyone looking at the camera) picture, one candid (laughing, interacting etc.) and then one “artsy” photo (focusing on composition and landscape– clients usually blow these up huge and will hang them in their homes as art). I have a very clean editing style. No greens that look grey here!
What should we wear? I always suggest coordinated outfits but not too “matchy matchy” and NEVER jeans with white shirts. You’ll get a full list of tips after booking.
How are the images delivered? The high resolution JPEGs are delivered in an online gallery via digital download.
I have a newborn or baby under 6 months. What would you recommend? I would recommend doing a full portrait session at your home. Email me to schedule! If you really would love an outdoor location, I would recommend bringing a basket to put them in for some solo pictures:)
What do all the different locations look like? There are examples of each location if you look at the sessions via “LOCATION“.
Where do you recommend that we get these printed? I recommend printing directly through the gallery.
Do you wear a mask? As of Oct 2022, I am no longer default wearing a mask. If you’d like me to wear a mask just let me know on your inquiry form when booking and I’ll be happy to do so.
